Bait, Tackle, and cold drinks provided for all charters.

Each customer will get to take home one of the "chix" lobsters they catch.

LOBSTER CHARTERS

The Amanda Mel is the only working commercial lobster boat in Rhode Island to offer Lobster Charters.  Gather the family, or a group of friends and spend a couple hours with Captain Ned aboard the Amanda Mel.  As the "mates" on the vessel you will be learning about lobsters and their lifecycles.  Once Captain Ned has hauled the pot up (this is a dangerous operation and our insurance won't allow the "mates" to operate the equipment) you will be in charge of the following;

Remove all lobsters, crabs, fish, seaweed, and other marine life from the trap

Use lobster gauge to measure lobsters

Place bands on the claws of all "keepers" 

Replace bait as necessary

Send trap back to the depths to catch more lobsters.

Some of the marine life that is brought aboard the vessel by the lobster traps is;

Lobsters, Jonah Crabs, Spider Crabs, Hermit Crabs, Sand Crabs, Blue Crabs, Cod Fish, Black Fish, Black SeaBass, Scup, Chogies, Trigger Fish, Tropical Fish, Octopus, and starfish.
